Dar Sébastien Cultural Center (Hammamet)
A mythical villa from the 1920s, now an international cultural center.
History of the place
Built by the Romanian billionaire George Sebastian in the 1920s, this villa is a masterpiece of modernist architecture blending luxury and simplicity. It has hosted personalities such as Winston Churchill, André Gide and Paul Klee. Its open-air theater, inspired by ancient theaters, hosts the Hammamet International Festival every summer. The visit of the gardens, the theater and some parts of the villa is a dive into a bygone era of elegance and artistic creation.
