The Archaeological Site of Sbeïtla (Sufetula)

Excursion Description

Sbeïtla is another gem of Roman heritage in Tunisia. Its most striking feature is its forum and capitol, composed not of one, but of three temples dedicated to Jupiter, Juno and Minerva. The site also includes well-preserved Byzantine churches, baths and a triumphal arch. The extent and quality of the ruins make it an essential stop to understand the history of the Romanization and Christianization of North Africa.
